NBA Rumors: Golden State Warriors Interested in Tyson Chandler? [VIDEO]

The Golden State Warriors could target New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler and may have to package forwards David Lee and Harrison Barnes in a trade for the defensive anchor.

ESPN.com is reporting that there is interest within the Warriors organization to pry away Chandler from the Knicks following a playoff run that showed the Dubs' lack of presence inside after center Andrew Bogut went down with an injury.

Stephen A. Smith said the Warriors still like Chandler whom they went after during the 2011 free agency season only to lose out to the Knicks. According to Smith: "I believe there's a possibility that the Golden State Warriors would trade those two guys for Tyson Chandler. I'm not saying it's definite but I really believe in my heart they would do it. And if there's a possibility that they would do it, the New York Knicks have got to investigate it."

While it is unknown how much the Warriors are willing to pay to get Chandler, one package that works at least in terms of salaries would be a Chandler deal for Lee and Barnes. Chandler is under contract for one more season that would pay him $14.5 million.

Of course, the trade talks hinge on whether the Kevin Love-to-Golden State rumor pushes through. In case the Warriors nab Love, there's no way they'll be able to afford Chandler specially since Barnes and Lee are two assets that the Dubs would have to part ways with in order to acquire Love .
