Following the arrest of WWE Diva Tenille "Emma" Dashwood for larceny, the company opted to fire her and then quickly re-hired her a few hours later on Wednesday.

Emma was arrested at 1 p.m. on Monday after stealing an iPod mini case from a Wal-Mart department store in Connecticut, where that night's RAW episode was set to air, and was released from jail at 2:30 and kept off the show.

After the initial arrest, the WWE released a statement saying that Emma was responsible for her own actions and then there were reports that the internal feeling within the WWE was that it was a one-day story and would blow over.

Emma's lawyer had said that she accidentally forgot to pay for the item when using the self-checkout lane at the store and that she didn't mean to steal it.

The WWE then decided to release her on Wednesday afternoon as mainstream media outlets began to pick up on the arrest and even released a statement about it.

"WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Emma as of today, July 2, 2014. WWE wishes Emma the best in all her future endeavors," the company wrote on its website.

The WWE then quickly decided to bring her back into the fold hours later and released another statement on its website and said that she would be punished accordingly for her actions..

"Upon further evaluation, WWE has reinstated Tenille Dashwood (WWE Diva Emma) but will take appropriate punitive action for her violation of the law," the company wrote.

TMZ, which was one of the major outlets to report on the arrest multiple times, wrote about the possible reasons for why the WWE re-hired the Diva.

"Officials quickly realized they overreacted, because their action would open the floodgates to fire a gaggle of wrestlers for fighting outside the ring, DUI and all sorts of other misdeeds," the site reported.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, TMZ was right in their reports as the WWE brought Emma back because Jack Swagger and Cameron have had legal troubles in the past and weren't fired because of it and people in power brought up the fact that if they were given second chances then Emma deserved one too.

The WWE also realized that it may face some backlash from fans over Emma's release and that played a factor into the company bringing her back as well.

There was reportedly a lot of shock among talent in the WWE that Emma was fired when many other Superstars have gotten into legal troubles and weren't released from their deals.

It has been an interesting week for Emma as she was arrested, lost her job and then got it back, but the punishment that WWE has in store for her now remains to be seen.
