Troy Tulowitzki is unprepared to become the next Todd Helton.

Clayton Kershaw scoreless streak to lead Dodgers to World Series win?

According to the Denver Post, the Colorado Rockies' star shortstop has expressed no reservation in being traded in another lost Rockies season. In fact, he is practically asking for it.

"In Todd Helton, there's someone who's easy to look at his career here and how it played out. I have the utmost respect for Todd, but at the same time, I don't want to be the next in line as somebody who was here for a long time and didn't have a chance to win every single year," said Tulowitzki, reviewing the 17 years Helton spent as the face of a franchise that never won a division title. "He played in a couple postseason games and went to one World Series. But that's not me. I want to be somewhere where there's a chance to be in the playoffs every single year."

So far in 2014, Tulowitzki is on pace to establish career highs in what already has been an outstanding career. He is batting .350 with an on-base percentage of .441 a .608 slugging percentage and a 1.049 OPS.

That goes with his 18 home runs at the midpoint of the season, which puts him on pace for a career power high.

According to CBSSports.com, the Rockies were tied for place as recently as May 7. But 28 losses in 38 games have left the team more than 10 games off the Los Angeles Dodgers' National League West pace.

"What people need to understand about me is: Winning's my main priority," Tulowitzki told the Denver Post. "I've been around the game a little bit now, and I understand those years where we did win, how much more fun I had. And then there are years such as this."

CBSSports.com added that Tulowitzki is signed through 2020 and is due $118 million over that span. If Tulowitzki is traded while under his current contract, then he gets a $2 million-assignment payout and a full no-trade clause.

If Tulowitzki gets wind that teams are enquiring about him, the Rockies would have to have a great explanation to keep him and keep him happy.
