Cleveland Browns Rumors: Josh Gordon Could Be Cut? Expected to Miss 2014 After Latest Drunk Driving Arrest [VIDEO]

Cleveland Browns' wide receiver Josh Gordon had a breakout 2013 season and seemed poised to be the next great receiver in football. That all seems like a lifetime ago as it is believe that Gordon will miss the entire 2014 season due to suspension.

Gordon was arrested and charged with driving while impaired Saturday morning which is the latest arrest for the troubled Browns' receiver. Gordon is due to meet with the NFL concerning his potential one-year suspension for a positive drug test, but his recent actions could make the decsion easy for the league. The meeting is set for the end of July unless the league and NFL Players Association opt to reduce Gordon’s suspension before then.

ESPN’s John Clayton went on record and believes “There is a great chance he’s not going to play this year” following his latest arrest. Many others have come out in support of Gordon and believe the 23-year-old needs help. Gordon’s former teammate and captain, D’Qwell Jackson, is one such player who thinks someone needs to go and help Gordon.

“Gordon He needs help, he really does. He needs people to extend themselves and probably have to do more than they wanted to do. But if they (the Browns) care anything about the kid, they have to do it.”

"At this point calling the cell phone is not going to work," Jackson explained. "You have to fly out to him. You have to fly out to wherever he is, take him to dinner and pick his brain to see what's important to him.”

Gordon was suspended for the first two games of the 2013 season and was suspended twice while he attended Baylor. Gordon is expected to miss some serious time in 2014, but his meeting at the end of July will determine the amount of time. Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon was suspended indefinitely by the league for a similar situation last season.

Despite playing in only 14 games, Gordon caught 87 balls for a league high 1646 yards with nine touchdowns. Many players, including Hall of Famer Cris Cater, believe the Browns should consider cutting the troubled wide receiver.
