Juventus News: Antonio Conte Quits, 'Excited' Massimiliano Allegri Appointed As New Juventus Coach

Not all Serie A-winning managers were created the same. That statement couldn't ring truer after Antonio Conte's mutual departure from Juventus saw the five-time Scudetto winner be succeeded by Massimiliano Allegri on Wednesday.

Having believed he has taken the Old Lady as far as he could, Conte announced his the termination of his contract on Tuesday on the club's official website. "I have decided to terminate my contract with Juventus," he said (via CNN). "I have matured with time and my feelings led me to make this choice. It may be more difficult to keep winning with Juventus."

"An enormous thank you for what you have given to me as a player and as a coach," the ex-Italy international added. "I have always been close to you. I want to say that the journey taken in recent years has been historic."

The journey was so historic, Conte won the last of his three consecutive titles with a league record of 102 points. Juventus finished a mere 17 points ahead of second-placed Roma.

Now, the reins have been handed to Allegri.

The former Sassuolo and Cagliari manager made a name for himself at AC Milan in 2010. Upon his arrival, he would go on to win the Serie A title before gradually declining Milan's status. Allegri would be sacked in January 2014.

At his unveiling, the former AC Milan boss voiced the exciting endeavor that awaits him at Turin. "It won't be easy to win a fourth straight Scudetto but it's an exciting challenge," Allegri said at a press conference (via the club's official Twitter feed). "That and the [UEFA] Champions League. Juve is a serious club. We're looking to the future with great optimism."

"I will try to further improve this side. I'm happy to coach players like [Paul] Pogba and [Arturo] Vidal."
