FIFA World Rankings 2014: Germany New No. 1, Spain, England and United States Fall In Post-World Cup Rankings

There's a new king atop the FIFA World Rankings, with Germany unseating the former world champions, Spain, for the top spot. After claiming their fourth World Cup title in Brazil, Germany have been validated by the governing body's algorithms. Conversely, Spain plummeted seven spots in the rankings to No. 8.

Other nation's that saw significant change include England, who are currently 20th after entering the tournament at No. 10, and the Netherlands, who jumped 12 places to No. 3. Costa Rica made a similar jump of their own, rising to No. 16 (previously No. 28). They sit one spot behind the United States, who dropped from 13th to 15th.
