Kevin Love Trade Rumors: Cavaliers Have Deal In Place To Sign All-Star To Contract Extension After Trade With Timberwolves [VIDEO]

After reports surfaced that the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves have a handshake agreement that will send Kevin Love to Cleveland, it has been reported that the Cavs also have an agreement in place to extend the three-time All-Star.

Lakers Workout Michael Beasley, May Sign Him

Yahoo Sports reports that not only do the Cavaliers have a deal in place for Love, but they also have an agreement in place with him for a long-term contract extension.

The deal will see the Cavaliers deal 2014 No. 1 overall draft pick Andrew Wiggins along with 2013 No. 1 draft pick Anthony Bennett and a protected 2015 first-round draft pick to Minnesota for Love.

According to the report, Cleveland is making the deal along with a firm agreement that Love will opt out of his 2015 contract with them and sign a five-year, $120 million-plus contract extension to join Team U.S.A. Olympic teammate LeBron James and the re-vamped Cavaliers.

The deal cannot be completed until Aug. 23 as league rules prohibit Cleveland from moving Wiggins for one month after he signed his rookie contract. The teams have remained mum on the exact details of the trade, but it is unlikely that the trade will not be revoked from either party and Love will join James and Kyrie Irving in 16 days to give the Cavs a real shot at being a contender for the NBA title.

The Timberwolves were hopeful to hang onto Love, but once he made it clear that he was bolting Minnesota once his contract was up in 2015, the T-Wolves changed their stance as they didn't want to risk losing him for nothing. Love is tired of losing as Minnesota hasn't made the playoffs in a decade and in six seasons with Love.

The Timberwolves in return get two promising young players while the Cavaliers increase their chances at winning an NBA title.

Love, 25, averaged 26 points and 12.5 rebounds last season and has averaged 19 points and 12.2 rebounds in his career.
