AAA confirmed Del Rio's appearance by posting the video where he said in Spanish that he is returning to the promotion Sunday at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City.

"Hello aficionados of Mexico and AAA, the boss is back," Del Rio said in a translation of the video. "What better place to call my home than AAA. Thanks for all the supports and you guys know there is quality where ever the boss is and there is quality in AAA, there was no better place to go. See you soon and God bless you."

Del Rio is returning to the place he started out in 2000 and will partake in the promotion's biggest event of the year.

Del Rio was fired from the WWE last week for slapping WWE's Manager of Social Media Live Events Cody Barbierri at last week's television tapings. The original reports that still seem to be true were that Barbierri made a joke that it was Del Rio's job, due to his Hispanic background, to clear off his plate when he was told to in catering.

Del Rio wasn't there at the time, but he was informed of it and later confronted Barbierri and asked for an apology to the racist comment, and when Barbierri didn't oblige, Del Rio slapped him. Del Rio reportedly hit him really hard and knocked him to the floor, leading to his departure.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that Del Rio was informed he'd be suspended for a short time until just after SummerSlam, but there is a belief that Barbierri threatened to sue the company, giving it no choice but to release Del Rio. Triple H called Del Rio last Thursday to let him go.

The WWE then sent out a tweet that fans should blame no one but Del Rio for his release, which "The Game" re-tweeted. Del Rio was reportedly furious about his termination despite the rumors he was unhappy in WWE and wanted to leave for Mexico.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, TNA immediately contacted Del Rio upon his WWE release and reportedly would make him TNA Champion upon his arrival in the company.

Del Rio likely has a 90-day no-compete clause, so it is unknown what his role will be at TripleMania XXII this Sunday.
