Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs take the ice at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto for preseason action. The game can be live streamed here. Detroit fans can hear all of the action on 97.1 The Ticket while Toronto fans can do the same on TSN 1050.

Detroit plays the penultimate game of its preseason it is 3-3 on thus far while Toronto closes out its exhibition slate, which it is 4-3 on through seven games. The Red Wings blanked the Maple Leafs 3-0 at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on Monday.

Detroit continues to tune up for a new season after making the playoffs for the 23rd consecutive campaign in 2013-14 by putting up a 39-28-15 record and 93 points. The Red Wings fell to the Boston Bruins in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in five games in 2013-14.

The Red Wings were led by Daniel Alfredsson and Niklas Kronwall last season as each had 49 points apiece. Alfredsson, who is still questionable to play this season due to a problematic back, put up 18 goals and 31 assists last season while Kronwall notched eight markers and 41 helpers. 

The Maple Leafs are coming off of a season where they went 38-36-8 for 84 points and missed the playoffs for the eighth time in nine years and the team is hoping to get back in the postseason in 2014-15.

The Maple Leafs were paced by Phil Kessel last season, who notched a team-best 80 points off of 37 goals and 43 assists while James van Riemsdyk notched 61 points off of 30 tallies and 31 helpers and Nazem Kadri was third on the team with 50 points as he found the back of the net 20 times and added 30 assists. 

Kessel is dealing with a lower-body injury and will not play tonight.
