NFL Scores: Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin Says Percy Harvin Trade Possibly To Blame For 28-26 Loss To Rams [VIDEO]

The Seattle Seahawks made a shocking trade on Friday by dealing Percy Harvin to the New York Jets and the residual effects of the trade may have played a hand in the team's Week 7 loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, according to wide receiver Doug Baldwin.

Baldwin said after the Seahawks' 28-26 loss to the Rams, which was the teams' second straight defeat, that the shocking trade of Harvin right before the team got on the bus on Friday may have contributed to the team's failure Sunday afternoon.

"Obviously the shock of the transaction and what took place there made for a bit of an emotional roller coaster," Baldwin said, according to ESPN. "When something that drastic happens, right before we get on the bus [to go to the airport for the trip], there is going to be an emotional impact. I felt we handled it to the best of our ability, but I think it might have been a factor in some way."

The defending Super Bowl champions dug themselves into an early 21-3 hole against St. Louis and trailed 21-6 by halftime before attempting a comeback that ultimately fell short.

"There's obviously a lot of things that went on this week that affected the team in numerous ways," Baldwin said. "As a competitor, you don't want to admit those things. But as a human, it is human nature. It took us a little while to get on track. I'm just proud we responded the way we did and fought until the very end."

Part of the decision for the Seahawks to trade Harvin to the Jets for a conditional draft pick was the reports that surfaced of Harvin taking himself out of the team's 30-23 Week 6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and reportedly getting into multiple fights with his teammates.

One person Harvin was rumored to get into it with was Baldwin, who mostly shook off the reports of a fight between the two while refusing to acknowledge other incidents.

"It is true," he said. "However, when you deal with somebody 12-to-14 hours a day, you are going to have issues and conflict, just like any family. I mean, you guys read the reports, I don't think I need to say anything else about it."

The Seahawks dropped to 3-3 and will visit the Carolina Panthers (3-3-1) in Week 8 while Harvin will suit up for the Jets (1-6) when they host the Buffalo Bills (4-3).
