Tracy McGrady To Los Angeles Lakers? T-Mac Wants To Attempt NBA Comeback [VIDEO]

Tracy McGrady's baseball career did not last too long, and now the former NBA superstar is thinking of making a return to the sport where he made his name. Many fans remember McGrady as an almost-peerless scorer who spent his career mired on bad teams before injuries robbed him of his prodigious talent.

McGrady also had a bit of a rivalry with Kobe Bryant, as the two were considered the best scorers in the game when they were at their peaks. According to media reports, T-Mac wants to make a return to the league, and he is considering joining his former foe.

The Lakers are a struggling mess, and it is unknown whether T-Mac can still play, but at the very least, he could ease some of the burden off of Kobe Bryant so that the longtime Laker could have something left in the tank for next year when the team hopes to be better after some free agent additions and a high draft pick.

"My body is still in shape. I can go. It's about opportunity, though. ... I want no limits on who I am and what I can do, not stand in the corner and shoot jump shots," said McGrady. "I want to be involved, that's not saying10 to15 shots, I want to be involved. I don't want to stand in the corner and shoot threes. That's not me."

McGrady thinks he could be an asset to the Lakers because his veteran leadership could help show the younger players on the roster what it takes to prepare and compete in the NBA over the course of a season, setting the stage for them to improve in the future.

There is no word on whether the Lakers would actually want to sign McGrady if he proves to be in good enough condition to play in the league again. They may decide that they do not want another aging veteran soaking up minutes that they could give to the aforementioned young players. Still, they love having big names in Los Angeles, and even nowadays, NBA fans know T-Mac.
