The Ohio State coach was riding high at a post-game press conference after his Buckeyes dispatched Alabama 42-35 in a Sugar Bowl showdown for the ages. However, when a reporter mentioned that the Oregon Ducks, who will face Ohio State in the national championship, had lit up the Florida State Seminoles with a 59-20 final, Meyer struggled to hide his incredulity.

Now, it's entirely possible that Meyer knew going into this situation that Oregon had put on a dominant performance. Coaches have smart phones and/or underlings to keep them abreast and up-to-the-minute with these kinds of things. Perhaps this performance is a little bit of gamesmanship from the coach, damning the Ducks with praise, if you will.
