Woodley told AXS TV's Inside MMA that after he trained with Punk he feels the former WWE Superstar is "awesome" and that no one should have a problem with him leaving the WWE for UFC.

"I did have a chance to train with CM Punk," Woodley told the show. "CM Punk's awesome... He's a student of the sport. A lot of people are giving him a lot of crap. After hanging out with him for three weeks I told him, 'Anyone got a problem with CM Punk, you got a problem with me.'"

Punk walked out on the WWE over a year ago due to frustrations with the way he was used and with the company repeatedly asking him to work hurt.

Punk then revealed on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast that he will never have a working relationship with the WWE again and that he received his termination papers from the company on the same day as his wedding with WWE Diva AJ Lee.

"The Best in the World" blasted the company and then went on to announce that he signed with UFC in December, with his first fight expected to occur in 6-7 months.

Punk is currently training and there have been many supporters of his new endeavors while others have mocked his attempt to jump from the squared circle to the Octagon.

Regarding UFC, there have been rumors that Chael Sonnen and Ronda Rousey may appear at WWE WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California and former WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross took to his blog to talk about it.

"My friend Chael Sonnen said on TSN's Off the Record that he was going to meet with WWE officials in the near future," Ross wrote on Jrsbarbq.com. "If accurate, Chael is a natural for WWE as he "gets it" and is a fan of the business notwithstanding the fact that he stays in excellent physical condition and is a natural born showman. If Chael were to join WWE, he would become their 2nd best talker behind @HeymanHustle from day one. Sonnen could be utilized in the ring or behind a mic SO easily. I'm anxious to see how this plays out. I'm happy to stay tuned."

Lastly, Ross touched on Rousey possibly appearing at the event.

"With that said the top attraction from the world of MMA in my opinion is @RondaRousey who's nothing but box office and has a truck load of charisma and lives with the Four Horsewomen who are all big wrestling fans," he wrote. "It would be so easy to book this attraction while garnering tons of publicity. Needless to say, the entire MMA/WWE connection is nothing more than speculation at this time but I do know that Ronda Rousey and her Horsewomen would be fun for which to create a WM31 scenario.
