AJ Lee WWE Rumors: WrestleMania 31 Match Against Stephanie McMahon Looming After Twitter Feud? [VIDEO]

Could a WrestleMania 31 clash be looming between Stephanie McMahon and WWE Diva AJ Lee?

The two ladies had an interesting exchange on Twitter, leading many people to wonder if it was a real-life shoot or a work that could lead to the two going head-to-head at the "Show of Shows" on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California.

McMahon tweeted to thank Patty Arquette for fighting for women's rights and then Lee swooped in and took a dig at her on the social media platform.

McMahon then responded, thanking Lee for her opinion.

Vince McMahon also commented once the #GiveDivasaChance movement began to trend:

There is no word yet on if this is a storyline or a real-life situation of Lee very publicly calling out Stephanie McMahon, but it could be possible -- and this is merely speculation -- that the WWE is setting up a bout between McMahon and Lee at WrestleMania 31.

Lee has been off of WWE television since the company wrote her off during TLC last December after Nikki Bella sprayed her in the eyes with hairspray following a successful defense of her Divas Championship.

Lee has taken the time to heal up her wounds, but on the same day various sites reported that there is a storyline in place for her, she tweeted negatively at McMahon.

This could merely be a coincidence or part of a grander scheme for the WWE, time will tell.

Lee, of course, is in a tough spot as she is married to CM Punk, who quit the WWE in January 2014 and then bashed the company on his friend Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast.

Punk said during that interview that WWE's doctor Chris Amann misdiagnosed a lump on his back and tried to downplay a concussion he received.

The doctor has responded swiftly with a defamation lawsuit against Punk and Cabana for the comments made on the podcast, which again puts Lee in an awkward spot.

Punk has yet to respond to the lawsuit, but Amann and the WWE posted a list of reasons why the "Best in the World's" claims were inaccurate, including stating that Punk never told Amann about the lump on his back.

Punk walked out on the WWE following the 2014 Royal Rumble event because he said he was frustrated with being "stifled creatively" and over the WWE asking him to work hurt on multiple occasions.

The former WWE Champion also said he received his termination papers from the company on the same day he married Lee. Lee took a hiatus from the WWE from April-June to move in with Punk in Chicago and the two tied the knot in June.

Lee then returned to the WWE and became a three-time Divas Champion upon her comeback, but has been sidelined since December.

In December, Punk announced that he has signed with UFC and his first fight is expected for later this year. He also said he'd never have a working relationship with the WWE again.

Lee was by Punk's side at UFC 181 when he made the announcement that he was joining the MMA promotion and there was said to be heat on her from the WWE for that and for her acceptance speech at the WWE Slammy Awards.

Lee is expected to return soon, but there's no telling if her Twitter feud with McMahon will lead to a WrestleMania 31 encounter or ultimately her termination from the company.
