The Detroit Tigers have seen a lot of roster turnover this offseason, and many baseball experts are wondering if the team's stranglehold on the American League Central will finally come to an end this season. If the team does win the division yet again, one man who needs to bounce back from a poor 2014 season is star pitcher Justin Verlander.

Verlander certainly looks to be in good spirits so far during training camp, which could indicate that he feels great physically. He and fellow starting pitcher David Price enjoyed a recently golf outing in which they wore similar ridiculous outfits, and Verlander was also recently spotted enjoying a dinner date with girlfriend Kate Upton.

The date with Upton is of particular interest, as rumors about a proposal spread like wildfire just over a month ago. For a while, it seemed that Verlander had proposed and Upton rejected him. Then other reports emerged that there had been no proposal. And now that the dust has settled, there still does not appear to be a definite verdict on whether or not Verlander popped the question.

What is clear is that the couple looked to be having a great time on their date, so apparently the proposal either never happened or they are still enjoying each other's company despite the rejection. While the latter does seem unlikely, perhaps she just gave him the "not right now" kind of rejection, which could mean that an actual engagement is on the way at some point this year.
Regardless, Verlander appears to have everything going well off the field, so hopefully he can focus on baseball like he needs to in order to capture his MVP form and help his team to another playoff berth.
