Real Madrid Transfer News: Paul Pogba Rumors Denied in Official Statement

Paul Pogba's long-term future won't be at Juventus, that is all but certain. According to Real Madrid, it won't be in the Spanish capital, either. Following the reports published in the Italian outlet La Stampa, the club issued an official statement on Wednesday denying any contact or interest in French international.

"Real Madrid have had no contact either with Juventus or the player's agent and, as a consequence, the reports published in this newspaper are completely false."

Given Pogba's feelings toward Real Madrid's transfer practices, the club's statement coincides with logic. Mino Raiola, the midfielder's agent, expressed in an interview with L'Equipe that there is no interest in becoming a Galactico.

"Real Madrid say they're not interested? Good," he said (via Football Italia). "If that's the case, we're not interested either. I never went to Real Madrid and said to them, 'Please buy Pogba.' Never."

"Real Madrid are a club which is in the habit of buying players like they're a washcloth, then disposing of them like a washcloth," Raiola added. "Real is a club which sees a player have six good games in the World Cup, and then buys him. We don't want to go to a club like that."

"We want to go to a club that believes in Paul's potential. I'm not closing the door to Real, but I'm not going to open it either."

Pogba will feature in the Champions League final on June 6 against Barcelona. Ironically enough, a club that is rumored to be his future employer.
