Bill Goldberg Return WWE: Star Wants Rematch With Brock Lesnar, 'I'd Love To Wrestle Brock Again' [VIDEO]

Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar had one of the most infamous matches in WWE history at WrestleMania XX in 2004, but the former WWE and WCW star wants The Beast to be the answer to who's next.

Goldberg spoke to RollingStone.com to promote this weekend's Legends of Wrestling event that will take place at Citi Field in New York City, home of the MLB's New York Mets, and he touched on Lesnar re-signing with the WWE, adding that he'd "love" to wrestle the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion again.

"Brock and Ernest Miller are the only two [wrestlers] that I talk to since I left," Goldberg told the site. "I talk to Brock once [every] couple months. He's a genius, but he's a little younger than me, and he can tolerate a little more than I can. I refuse to do it. The one year that I [joined WWE], I'm so mad at myself for doing it, but I owed it to the fans to try it. I put myself on that platter and I got slaughtered. That's how I feel, and I shouldn't feel like that. I should think wrestling is the most positive thing in the world. The fact is, behind the scenes, there's stuff that goes on that's bush-league. It's laughable. So to see a guy like Brock do what he's doing, are you kidding me? I admire him whole-heartedly, and I like to think that I taught him a thing or two. I'd love to wrestle Brock again."

Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins Slated For SummerSlam?

Goldberg exploded onto the professional wrestling scene in WCW in 1997 after being influenced by Steve "Sting" Borden. He was then booked to go on a historic 173-0 run through the WCW locker room that was ended by Kevin Nash.

After Ted Turner's company went under in 2001, Goldberg eventually resurfaced in the WWE in 2003 stayed until his match with Lesnar. The WWE's fans criticized both men throughout the bout as it leaked out that they were each leaving the company.

Goldberg recently teased a return to the ring, but he said that it won't be with the WWE.

"When I was speaking of that, I wasn't speaking of my correlation with any organization," Goldberg said. "This is an event I'm gonna put on myself. Not in association with [Jeff Jarrett's] Global Force [Wrestling] or anyone. It's an opportunity I've been given through a number of influential people to fulfill a dream of mine - to let my son watch me wrestle. I don't want anybody telling me what to do in any capacity anymore. Therefore, I'm gonna do it on my own."

Goldberg hasn't appeared in a WWE ring since 2004, but he had negotiations with Triple H to appear at WrestleMania XXX last year, but nothing ended up coming to fruition.

Goldberg publicly said that the two sides couldn't reach an agreement and it seems like a possible reunion is farfetched.

Lesnar, meanwhile, returned to the WWE in 2012 and eventually ended The Streak of The Undertaker and won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship last year. The Beast then dropped the belt at WrestleMania 31 without being pinned and should be back next month after re-signing with the WWE prior to the Show of Shows.

Goldberg also said that he may choose not to wrestle, but so far something is in the works.

"There is an actual date in a stadium in this country that is set up with entertainment to put on an event like nobody's ever seen," Goldberg said. "And it's in my court. It's all about timing, it's all about the right opponent. There's so much that goes into this, especially if it's my last time. And I honestly don't know if I'm 100-percent willing to do it, because I'm seriously considering kickboxing right now."

A Goldberg-Lesnar rematch is likely a pipe dream as Lesnar is signed by the WWE and Goldberg is refusing to return.
