Kaepernick reportedly has thrown a 90 mile-per-hour fastball when he was called upon to throw out the first pitch of a game last season, but other than that and his three home runs Sunday, Kaepernick has not shown to be much of a threat to play professional baseball.

Kaepernick still is working on improving his pocket-passing skills. He offseason workout coach, Dennis Gile, said the fourth-year quarterback was set to return in early July to Phoenix to put in some more time working with the quarterbacks coach on the mechanics he learned during the offseason that has allowed him to deliver the ball with more touch when necessary as well as helped his accuracy with downfield passes.
Kaepernick has laid low since his inadvertent Twitter gaffe, when he used a picture of the flood damage in the Houston area in connection with his new catchphrase hashtag, #7tormscoming, that drew considerable criticism.
