The Showoff and The Bulgarian Brute have been at odds for a few months now, but Ziggler was written off of television as a result of an attack by Rusev a few weeks back.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, despite Ziggler being written off to film the WWE Studios movie 6:42, he is expected to return in time to face Rusev on SummerSlam on Aug. 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Ziggler has been at odds with the Super Athlete since the mighty Russian broke up with Lana on WWE television a few months ago.
Following the split, Rusev paired up with Summer Rae while Ziggler and Lana were weaved together in storyline over the past couple of months.
All four of them have had several battles through the last few weeks, but it came to a grinding halt when Rusev took Ziggler out on Monday Night RAW in early July.
After filming the thriller, Ziggler will return, likely a week or two before SummerSlam, to set up a one-on-one match.
The only official contest booked for The Biggest Party of the Summer so far is Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker in a WrestleMania XXX rematch as The Deadman looks to give The Beast payback for kayfabe ending The Streak.
Other rumors for the show include a Sting match, likely teaming with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to take on The Wyatt Family, and a bout involving the three new Diva trios, but nothing has been confirmed.
The WWE also seemed to tease a match between WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and United States Champion John Cena this past Monday night.
The 28th annual SummerSlam emanates live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Aug. 23.
