AC Milan Transfer News: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Eyes Return, Alessio Romagnoli Signing With Arsenal and More

Uncertainty continues to surround AC Milan. Vice-president Adriano Galliani is no longer sure the club's transfer targets will join the Rossoneri.

"I am not sure whether we will sign [Alessio] Romagnoli or [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic," Galliani told Premium Sport, per Forza Italian Football. "Ibrahimovic has another year on his contract, so PSG will decide if he leaves the club this summer. I do not think we are closing to signing him, but if PSG let him leave then we are in pole position."

"We have made an offer for Romagnoli to Roma. We will not increase the bid, so now it all depends on the actions of Roma."

Wednesday's news helped clarify the club's muddled transfer policy.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

First, the good news.

Sven-Goran Eriksson—head coach of the Sweden national team—believes the 33-year-old will rejoin Milan before the close of the summer transfer window.

"Ibra remains tied to Milan," the Swedish coach told the Gazzetta dello Sport, per Goal. "His return to Milan would be useful for both him and the Rossoneri."

Ibrahimovic left the San Siro for the Parc de Princes in 2012, joining PSG for €20 million.

Alessio Romagnoli

Now, the bad news. Milan's pursuit for Romagnoli will be all for naught, according to Metro.

Per the reports, Arsenal are now in a pole position to sign the 20-year-old. Romagnoli has long voiced his desire to stay in Italy, but Milan must meet Roma's £24.4 million valuation.

Axel Witsel

The battle for Axel Witsel's services are down to two Italian clubs according to his agent Riccardo Napolitano. AC Milan is surprisingly one of them. That much was revealed in an interview with FantaGazzetta, per Football Italia.

"At the moment, there hasn't been an official offer made to the Russians [Zenit St. Petersburg]," Napolitano said. "Witsel wants to play for a big international club, and Juventus are that, as are Milan."

"Although they aren't in the Champions League, Axel still considers Milan a top club."

Per the reports, an offer of €30 million will be enough to see the 26-year-old walk.
