For the third time in 18 months, The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will battle it out in the ring, but this time they'll go through hell.
"The Beast" and "The Deadman" will have the rubber match of their feud at WWE Hell in a Cell on Oct. 25 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles inside the satanic structure.
Sting's 56; Why The Hell Is He Still Wrestling?
The WWE pulled off the shock of the century when Lesnar defeated The Undertaker to end his undefeated streak at WrestleMania XXX in 2014. After the bout, "The Deadman" disappeared for a full year until WrestleMania 31, when he returned to battle Bray Wyatt. "The Demon from Death Valley" once again resurfaced at Battleground in July, costing Lesnar his WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot against Seth Rollins.
The Undertaker furthered his revenge storyline by defeating Lesnar in controversial fashion on Aug. 23 at SummerSlam. Now, the two behemoths will slug it out inside Hell in a Cell next month.
7 Possible Matches For WWE Hell In A Cell
Here are four possible outcomes to that epic bout.
1) Deadman Domination
Lesnar rarely loses in the WWE ring, so The Undertaker defeating him at SummerSlam was a pretty big moment, despite the whacky booking that led to the outcome. The company wanted to give 'Taker revenge for losing at WrestleMania, but also wanted Lesnar to look strong, so it booked a false Lesnar win and surprise, cheap 'Taker victory as a way to get around jobbing out their biggest draw.
With Hell in a Cell looming, it seems the WWE will have to book a clear-cut winner without any controversy in order for the feud to have proper closure. The Undertaker did Lesnar and the WWE a huge favor by losing The Streak to him in 2014 as it led to Lesnar's torrid dominance of the entire roster and was the starting point for a year's worth of storylines with "The Beast."
It's possible the WWE pays back 'Taker's loyalty by having him beat "The Beast" cleanly to end their feud.
2) Here Comes The Pain
As mentioned above, Lesnar has just been dominant in his latest stint in the WWE. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion not only ended The Streak, but he's knocked off the likes of CM Punk, Triple H and John Cena on his recent tear through the roster.
The WWE has made Lesnar its marquee draw over the last couple of years and it's hard to conceive of a 50-year-old 'Taker defeating the former UFC champion inside of a cage. The WWE also may reward Lesnar for his loyalty since he decided to stay in Vince McMahon's company rather than rejoin UFC and his decision got the organization main stream attention on ESPN's "SportsCenter."
With Lesnar under contract and likely to make more appearances this year than The Undertaker, who will likely disappear until WrestleMania 32 in April, he could walk out victorious.
3) Heyman In Hell
When it comes to Lesnar's manager Paul Heyman, you can never count out some sort of swerve. The former ECW creator has turned his back on "The Beast" in the past, most notably in 2002 when he defended the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against The Big Show at Survivor Series in 2002.
It's hard to see a scenario like this playing out, as Lesnar needs Heyman as his mouth piece, but the WWE does enjoy trying to trick and surprise its fans at every turn. It's possible that the WWE books Lesnar to lose by way of someone somehow finding their way into the cell and costing him the match. That person could be a new Paul Heyman Guy, which Finn Balor hinted at in the buildup to SummerSlam.
Lesnar's manager is known as "Heyman Hustle" for a reason, and he could have some tricks up his sleeve come Oct. 25.
4) Stinging Surprise
Even before Sting came over to the WWE last November, there were rumors that he'd battle The Undertaker prior to both men hanging up their boots for good. The two have never crossed paths, as Sting has only feuded with Seth Rollins and Triple H, but that could change at Hell in a Cell.
Sting suffered a serious neck injury at Night of Champions in his match with Rollins on Sunday, so any involvement for "The Vigilante" depends on his recovery from that ailment. If he does recover and the WWE is serious about the two wrestling legends facing off at WrestleMania 32, the former WCW and TNA icon could fire the first salvo in their feud at Hell in a Cell, though he'd do so at the risk of turning heel.
WrestleMania 32 emanates from AT&T Stadium in Texas, and with 'Taker and Sting both residing from the Lone Star State, that would be as good a venue as any to have them finally clash in the ring. Sting is 0-2 in the WWE in pay-per-view bouts, while The Undertaker is 22-1 at WrestleMania, so there would be some interesting back-story to a potential clash.
With Sting (56) and Undertaker (50) likely not having much left, it's now or never for a feud, depending on Sting's health.
