Turns out, the Neymar to Manchester United transfer rumors weren’t as ridiculous as previously believed. The Brazil captain admitted to ESPN Brazil that he had conversations with the club this past summer, per Fox Sports.

In the end, United settled for Anthony Martial. Despite overpaying -- €80 million for an unproven 19-year-old -- the club is reaping some rewards early in the campaign. Martial boasts four goals through his first four appearances and United are just two points off the pace in the table.
But Martial is no Neymar.
A club once viewed as the most powerful in the world is limited to “conversations” with players of his ilk, not signatures.
