Dallas Cowboys Turmoil: Matt Cassel's First Start In Jeopardy [VIDEO]

Promoted starting quarterback Matt Cassel is confident the Cowboys' offense has enough weapons to turn their season around.

Cassel, however, might not be around when Dallas comes back from its bye week to play the Giants on Oct. 25.

And that will leave the Cowboys with a pissed-off Brandon Weeden to make another start.

Cassel's wife Lauren is 38 weeks pregnant, putting the NFL journeyman in a possible predicament as he prepares to make his first start in Dallas after its bye week. Cassel didn't say whether or not he would play if Lauren goes into labor.

"No, we'll get it out before then," he joked, according to USA Today Sports. "Right, Honey? I love you. A lot of walking, a lot of walking."

Weeden, who went 0-3 in place of the injured Tony Romo this season, was asked about his demotion.

"How do you think I took it?" Weeden said Wednesday in another USA Today Sports report. "Obviously, I'm pissed. I told [the coaching staff] how I felt. They know how I feel. They know I'm pissed."

Cassel's dad is from Lubbock, Texas, CBS Sports reported, and getting to start for Dallas is special for the player now with his fifth NFL team -- he's also played for New England, Kansas City, Minnesota and Buffalo.

"This is my 11th year; I've kind of been through all types of situations at this point in my career," Cassel said. "I know how hard it is to get on the field in this league. It's always been a dream of mine to play for the Cowboys, let alone to be the starter for the Cowboys."

The Cassels already have three children -- two daughters and a son.
