Maria Kanellis WWE Return Rumors: Former Diva Cryptically Hints At Comeback [VIDEO]

An old face may join the new revolution.

Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis (Bennett) fired off a tweet that seemed to hint that she's angling for a WWE return with her Ring of Honor contract set to expire. A lot of fans may groan with the memory of Kanellis' tenure in the WWE, but things have changed a lot since she was a part of the Diva search and posed for playboy.

Kanellis has honed her craft in ROH and could make a nice addition to the WWE's main roster with the ongoing Divas Revolution, which has failed to captivate the audience thus far. The WWE has plenty of potential stars in Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and reigning Divas Champion Charlotte, but bringing in a familiar face could help continue to spark some interest in the ladies.

The WWE has made an effort to revamp the division, but still relies too heavily on lumping the ladies together in multi-woman matches, rather than allow for interesting arcs amid all of the ladies. Banks has stolen the show with Bayley several times in NXT, but hasn't been given room to breathe on the main roster.

The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar, Who Needs A Win More?

The WWE has begun the process of making things more interesting and edgier in the Divas division as Paige turned on Natalya, Lynch and Charlotte, while dissention has also began to form in the Team B.A.D. ranks. Still, the execution has been lacking.

Adding Kanellis to the fray could make for an interesting dynamic as a lot of things have changed since her departure. The 2009 Diva of the Year burst on the scene in 2004, but she hasn't been a part of Vince McMahon's organization since 2011, when she left the organization for Ring of Honor.

Kanellis' husband, Michael Bennett is also a part of that promotion. The Diva also dated CM Punk in the past.

Kanellis seems to be at least considering a return to the WWE, and it could only help the Divas Revolution.
