Despite his history of domestic abuse, Greg Hardy no longer has a record of domestic abuse.
The Cowboys defensive end had his past transgressions expunged from his record, which is now clean, according to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer.
Hardy was found guilty of assault and threatening his former girlfriend last July. The Dallas player was then sentenced to 60 days in jail and 18 months of probation after he was found guilty of assaulting his then-girlfriend and throwing her onto a futon full of guns in court.
When Hardy appealed and his former girlfriend didn't show up for the process in February, the charges were dismissed. Hardy used the money he makes in the NFL to pay off his accuser, according to the New York Post.

Hardy was limited to just one game with the Panthers last season, and he then signed with the Cowboys for the 2015 season. Due to the domestic incident, the league suspended the defensive end for 10 games this season, but once again the appeal process worked in his favor and the ban was reduced to just four contests.

With a firestorm brewing off the field, things have gone well on it for Hardy thus far this season, aside from a sideline spat with teammates. The former Pro Bowler has three sacks, a forced fumble and an interception in three games. Dallas' fortunes this year, however, haven't been too great as wide receiver Dez Bryant missed time due to a foot injury and quarterback Tony Romo was placed on injured reserve after breaking his collarbone.
Bryant has returned to the lineup, while Romo participated in drills for the first time this week, but the Cowboys are sitting in the NFC East basement with a 2-5 record following a five-game losing streak.
Though the law is the law, common sense dictates that Hardy deserves to have that transgression on his record, even if that isn't how things played out due to the flaws in our justice system. Hardy paid off his victim and now has a clean slate as far as domestic incidents are concerned.
Yes, the law is what it is, but common sense took a dive in this one.
