Despite losing part of his left middle finger tackling New Orleans Saints' Darren Sproles on a punt return in Sunday's 31-7 loss for the Arizona Cardinals (1-2), safety Rashad Johnson has been upbeat about it and has taken it all in stride, even after the team's Twitter account poked fun at the injury with a picture of a foam finger with the tip of its middle finger cut off.
The Cardinals official Twitter account tweeted the following on Tuesday evening:

The photo was a playful jab about the gruesome injury that took place on the field when Johnson tackled Sproles and then felt like something was wrong with his middle finger following the play. When he returned to the sideline, he took off his glove and his middle finger tip was still inside of it.
While the Cardinal's Twitter photo was playful, Johnson posted one that was a bit more graphic. At the request of some fans on the social media site, Johnson posted a graphic picture of his actual finger on his Twitter account which can be viewed here.
Johnson underwent surgery following the game to shave down the bone in order to stave off infection, but didn't get the tip of his finger reattached and he showed the picture following surgery. Johnson made an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show since losing the tip of one of his 10 fingers, and has been pretty upbeat about the injury.
Johnson has three tackles on the season and 98 through his five-year career.
While ESPN reported that Johnson said it was "the most painful injury he ever felt," he could still possibly return for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to head coach Bruce Arians.
"It's day to day," Arians said Monday per ESPN. "It's just a matter of pain tolerance."
Johnson and the Cardinals have managed to turn a gruesome injury into something a little light-hearted.
