Eli Manning Insulted By Hoboken Mayoral Candidate, '14 Sacks Made Off The Field Political Decision-Making Questionable' [VIDEO]

It's no secret that quarterback Eli Manning and the New York Giants have had a troublesome season on the field following an 0-6 start to the year, but now Manning is hearing it off the field as Hoboken mayoral candidate Tim Occhipinti insulted him in an open letter to his brother Peyton Manning after the NFL star and native of Hoboken endorsed incumbent Mayor Dawn Zimmer for the upcoming election in November.

In the letter, which is addressed to Peyton but concerns Eli, Occhipinti and his One Hoboken team insult the Giants quarterback for his play on the field and his political decisions off of it.

"We are not sure whether it's the 14 sacks he has endured that made his off the field political decision-making questionable -- or if the 9 interceptions and 2 fumbles this year show that he is making questionable decisions on and off the field," the letter read according to UPI.com.

The whole scathing letter can be viewed here.

Following Thursday night's 27-21 loss to the Chicago Bears, Manning's sack and interception totals increased to 16 and 15, respectively, but the letter was written prior to the game.

Occhipinti continued the bashing Eli's endorsement of his opponent, asking Peyton to "please talk to Eli and help us get another championship."

Eli Manning is 123-for-229 (53.7%) for 1,721 yards with nine touchdowns and the aforementioned 15 interceptions thus far for the winless Giants, while Peyton is having a record-breaking season for the undefeated Denver Broncos (5-0). Through the first five weeks, Peyton is 150-for-198 (75.8%) for a league-leading 1,884 yards with a league-high 20 touchdowns compared to just one interception.

"We know his recent questionable judgment on the field and in Hoboken politics can be corrected," Occhipinti said of Eli in the letter, according to UPI.com. "The Giants can get back on track and back to their winning ways!"

Things only got worse for Eli in Thursday's loss as he was 14-for-26 for 239 yards with just one touchdown compared to three interceptions, while being sacked once.

Perhaps the take away from the letter is that Manning should stop focusing on politics and try to somehow, some way, start winning football games again.
