With the Royal Rumble in the rearview mirror, there's only one pay-per-view and WWE Network special stop before WrestleMania: Fastlane.
WWE RAW Preview: 'Game On' For Road To WrestleMania
This year's event will take place on Feb. 21 live from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Since the Royal Rumble Match was for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, it's highly likely that the WWE constructs some way to determine the No. 1 contender for WrestleMania at Fastlane.
Here is our projected card for the show.
WWE Royal Rumble Results & Twitter Reaction
Singles Match: AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens
Owens and Styles collided in one of the best moments of the Rumble Match on Sunday, with Owens eventually dumping the former TNA Heavyweight Champion out of the ring. The WWE can piggyback off this development and book Styles to have his first singles pay-per-view match against the former NXT Champion.
WWE United States Championship: Kalisto (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
The WWE has played hot potato with the gold as of late, but Del Rio is due a return match and the final chapter in this rivalry might as well happen at Fastlane.
WWE Tag Team Championships: The New Day (c) vs. The Usos
Jimmy and Jey will get one final crack at the Tag Team Champions as they look to finally dethrone The New Day.
WWE Divas Championship: Charlotte (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks
"The Boss" made it known she's going after Charlotte's title, but Lynch is also still in the mix. Banks' crowning moment should come at WrestleMania, but she still deserves a crack at Ric Flair's daughter in some capacity at Fastlane. Since Charlotte is juggling multiple feuds, she'll have to defend her gold against both ladies.
Gauntlet Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman, Erick Rowan & Luke Harper
The WWE seems to be building toward a Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt match at WrestleMania, but in order to get to the Wyatt Family leader, "The Beast" will first have to go through his brood. Lesnar will have to tear through Strowman, Rowan and Harper in the same match in order to get a piece of the "Eater of Worlds" at WrestleMania.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H (c) vs. Kane
"The Game" will need a tune-up for WrestleMania, and given The Authority's relationship with Kane, Triple H could play it safe by booking himself to face The Authority's monster at Fastlane. While it's not paricularly a great match on paper, it would make sense booking-wise.
Elimination Chamber Match To Determine No. 1 Contender For WrestleMania 32: Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Dolph Ziggler
Since the Elimination Chamber event is in flux, it's possible the WWE just decides to include the structure as a part of Fastlane. These six Superstars were the last participants in the Rumble Match who were all eliminated prior to Triple H winning, making them the most logical choices to participate in the match. This will be done to determine the No. 1 contender to face "The Game" at the "Show of Shows," which most likely will be Reigns.
