With endorsements like the one Ryan Tannehill just received, who needs criticism?
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Greg Jennings was a guest on ESPN's First Take and promptly made on of the most passive-aggressive remarks about his mercurial quarterbacks.

"This is no knock on Ryan. This is not Ryan's choice. He wants to be free," Jennings told ESPN, via NFL.com. "He wants to have that freedom, that liberty at the line of scrimmage, as most quarterbacks do. When you show your quarterback that you trust him, you give him freedom. ...
"We don't know who Ryan Tannehill is, but we want him to be this great guy, this great quarterback, this franchise quarterback, but no one has given him the freedom, the luxury, to call plays, make checks, to do the things that a great quarterback will have the opportunity to do.

"I guess what I'm saying is he's far (from elite)," Jennings said. "I'm being honest. None of us know. ... It's like he's been handcuffed. I've played with Brett (Favre), I've played with Aaron (Rodgers). I've played with great quarterbacks. So you can sense, you can quickly tell if one has it or not."
It's not like Tannehill is a rookie. He just completed his fourth season and signed a four-year contract extension before 2015 that will pay him $19,250,000 annually, according to overthecap.com.
By Jennings' comment, the Dolphins should be able to tell by now whether Tannehill has "it" and signed him to an extension as if they believe he has "it."
But then he went out and regressed statistically from his 2014 season. Though he threw for a career-high 4,208 yards, Tannehill's completion percentage went down from 66.4 to 61.9, and his touchdowns went down from 27 to 24 while his interceptions remained the same (12).
He also was involved in an incident with the Dolphins' practice-squad members, putting him in an unfavorable light. He reportedly became angry when they intercepted his passes, and the former Dolphins coaching staff had to tell the squad not to make plays on his passes during practice.
New coach Adam Gase was hired in part to fix Tannehill like he did Jay Cutler in 2015 as the Bears' offensive coordinator. He believes he can do it.
It doesn't sound as if Jennings believes it. Or maybe he does. It's like his comments have been handcuffed.
