Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Ottawa Senators (3-3-2) and Detroit Red Wings (6-3-1) do battle live from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. The game can be live streamed here. Ottawa fans can hear all the bone-crunching action on Team 1200 while Detroit fans can do the same by turning their dials to 97.1 The Ticket.

After 17 seasons and 1,178 games with Ottawa, Daniel Alfredsson plays against his former team for the first time ever when the Red Wings host the Sens tonight.

"The city of Ottawa is going to miss him and as teammates of his for so long we miss him too, but he turned the page. We've got to turn the page too," Senators forward Chris Neil said per NHL.com. "You don't dwell on it, you just go out, focus on the task at hand and that's to beat the Detroit Red Wings."

Alfredsson leads his new team in assists with eight and has one goal for nine points, ranking him second on the team in points thus far.

Ottawa is coming off of a home loss to the Edmonton Oilers 3-1 on Saturday, and is playing their seventh road game of the season compared to just two at home while Detroit is coming off of a 1-0 shootout loss at the hands of the San Jose Sharks on Monday after Wings goalie Jimmy Howard matched zeroes with Sharks netminder Antti Niemi through three periods and the five minute overtime, but couldn't hold them off in the shootout.

"I thought we did a good job on their top guys. We didn't give them a lot of room and space. Another thing that was a positive was we didn't give up a lot of odd-man rushes," Howard said via NHL.com about Monday's loss.

Howard is 3-3-1 this season with a 2.26 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage while backup Jonas Gustavsson hasn't lost yet and is 3-0-0 with a 1.67 GAA and a .953 save percentage. In the crease for Ottawa will likely be starter Craig Anderson, who is 3-1-2 with a 2.88 GAA and a .924 save percentage.

Ottawa will look to shake off its first loss at home on Saturday and look to continue trying to dominate on the road.

"I thought it was a solid 60 minutes by our team, probably the best full game that we've played to this point this season," coach Paul MacLean said in the Ottawa Citizen of the team's last loss.

Ottawa has been paced by Jason Spezza, who has a team-high five goals while adding three assists for a team-leading eight points. Bobby Ryan is second with seven points off of four goals and three assists.

Detroit, meanwhile, is led by Henrik Zetterberg (six goals, five assists) and Pavel Datsyuk (five goals, six assists) who each are tied atop the team with 11 points.

Alfredsson takes on his old team as the Red Wings look to top Ottawa while the Senators will try and stave off their new Atlantic Division rivals when they hit the ice tonight at Joe Louis Arena.
