Mike Miller To Sue Miami Heat To Recoup Nearly $2 Million Lost In Fraud Scam? [VIDEO]

Former Miami Heat forward Mike Miller is might file a formal complaint asking the team to reimburse him nearly $2 million in damages after being victimized by a team employee in a financial fraud scam.

According to CBSNews.com, Miller lost $1.7 million in a scam allegedly orchestrated by Haider Zafar, a South Beach businessman who presented himself as an heir to a wealthy Pakistani family.

In his complaint, Miller, who now plays for the Memphis Grizzlies, alleges Zafar used $700,000 of the money he stole from him to pay for Heat courtside tickets after he was introduced by the unidentified team employee.

CBS adds settlement talks between Miller and the Heat have now stalled, amid demands from the veteran forward for a return on his $700,000 Zafar paid to the team. If the pending lawsuit is indeed filed, Miller's attorney, Andrew Fine, told the website his client would seek repayment of the entire $1.7 million.

Known as the "Bling King," Zafar is now in custody in Ohio on unrelated fraud charges. CBS reports Heat teammates James Jones and Rashard Lewis were also victimized by Zafar and his meeting with Miller actually took place in the Heat's offices. The employee in question has since left the organization.

The Heat waived Miller last summer using their amnesty clause after he helped the team win back-to-back championships. He signed with the Grizzlies as a free agent in July.
