John Cena, Nikki Bella Relationship Update: Engagement Will Wait As 'Total Divas' Ends With No Proposal [VIDEO]

Nikki Bella will have to wait to become Mrs. Cena.

After teasing a possibility that John Cena would propose to her by the end of "Total Divas" Season 5, the show concluded on Tuesday night without an engagement for Bella. The couple has been dating for nearly four years, but has yet to take the next big leap in their relationship.

Tuesday's season finale followed Bella as she received the news about her neck injury, which eventually had to be surgically repaired. With Bella sidelined and Cena (shoulder) also on the mend and off of WWE television, it seemed they had big news coming regarding their relationship, but it didn't happen this season on "Total Divas."

Bella teased back in February that she could have been hiding an engagement announcement for the sake of the show.

"If he has asked me this season, which you have to watch, I wouldn't wear it [engagement ring] until it airs," Bella hinted in an interview with PWMania (via SheKnows.com). "If he has, if it's true, my dream would be in Napa Valley, in a vineyard, at one of our favorite vineyards, too, with no one around, just us. Say some amazing things to me, too, make me cry a little bit. Yeah."

Cena and Bella, who both had previous marriages, have never seen eye-to-eye when it comes to tying the knot, but the 15-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion recently hinted that he is beginning to change his stance on marriage -- even if a proposal hasn't come yet.

"You can't change the other person, you have to kind of grow with them," Cena said in an appearance on 'The View.' earlier this month. "I think my views on marriage are just me being stubborn and not willing to grow. And day-by-day, I'm changing my perspective on that."

As for Bella, she has never been shy about what she wants out of her relationship with Cena.

"Marriage and kids. I think I could sacrifice kids for him but I do want that ring one day, I want to be Mrs. Cena," Bella told the E! News in August. "Our life has become one and we make decisions together but I think I want that bling to walk around with."

Though it didn't happen on "Total Divas," perhaps the big proposal will occur on "Total Bellas" when it premieres in the fall:
