Manchester United manager David Moyes has witnessed a Group A campaign in which his club has collected seven points from their opening three games but the manager isn't about to take his winless opponents lightly.
"I certainly won't take anything for granted,'' Moyes said per ESPN. "I have a lot of respect for Sociedad, and we will have to play well on Tuesday if we are going to get those 10 points which will get us over the line. But we have got ourselves in a good position in the group and we have to try to maintain that.''
Manchester comes in on the back of a seven-match unbeaten run in competitions while the team has recorded back-to-back Premiere League victories for the first time since Moyes took over.
Moyes is also glad to be fielding a healthy group.
'We don't have a lot of injuries. It's probably the best Manchester United have had for a long time," he told ESPN.
Still, Jonny Evans (ankle), Rafael (back) and Tom Cleverley (double vision) won't be playing as they were substituted in Saturday's 3-1 victory at Fulham.
Sociedad coach Jagoba Arrasate is hoping his team will have a fighting chance in the game after the team has picked up seven points and 10 goals in its last three domestic matches. He knows his team is in for a tough fight.
''A lot has been said about this transition period but Manchester United are still very powerful,'' he said per ESPN. ''They have been struggling a bit in the Premier League but they are coming back now. They are the current champions. It is the same squad. They have a lot of potential and they are still a great team."
Sociedad is hoping to keep its consolation pace alive while Manchester United looks to continue its dominance when these teams meet on the pitch in Spain.
