Cristiano Ronaldo Turns 32: What Is Yet To Be Achieved?

Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated his 32nd birthday on Sunday with his mother and son. Ronaldo was given a weekend off from football as Los Blancos' trip to Celta Vigo was postponed to this week because of the storm that damaged the roof which gave him some time to spend with family and celebrate his birthday.

Ronaldo's mother posted a picture on Instagram of herself with Cristiano Ronaldo and his son with the birthday cake with a caption, "Congratulations." Ronaldo has had a terrific 12 months of 2016 where he won the Champions League with Madrid, The Euro Cup with Portugal and some 16 different awards which he won which include 4th time Ballon d'Or and the first ever The Best FIFA Men's player of the year as reported by ESPN.

With these things, one might think as a footballer what is yet to be achieved in life. But still, the only thing that is missing in Ronaldo's personal museum at his home island of Madeira is a World Cup.

World Cup in 2018 provides an opportunity for the Portugal Captain to add one more feather to his crown. Though this would not be an easy task for him as Iberians have gone through last 16 only once in the history that too in the year 1966 as reported by republish. Getting there also this time looks challenging as Portugal lost 0-2 to Switzerland when Ronaldo was injured. Currently, they are placed at 2nd in their qualifying and might have to go through a playoff to get their hopes alive for Russia.

Ronaldo who started his career in 2001 and he has played under -15, under-17, under-20, under-21, under-23for his national side where he had 18 goals overall. Ronaldo was named as Portugal captain in 2006. He joined Real Madrid in 2009 and from there, his career took a rise.

Lluis Mateus, MaisFutebol director, and Portugues TV pundit spoke about Ronaldo, "This year will be different than previous ones," said Lluis Mateus, MaisFutebol director and Portugues TV pundit about Ronaldo. "He can get frustrated at not scoring so many goals and will need to redefine himself and play differently. He must prepare himself for that. This evolution has already started, but it will become more profound. He's a very responsible guy and prepares physically for all challenges."
