Nothing is Grand about the 2017 Jeep Patriot

It is highly unlikely but the newer version of an American classic vehicle has become a big disappointment just recently. It seems that the entry of the 2017 Jeep Patriot is a throwback to the days of a disgruntled and disturbed Chrysler Corporation.

The Jeep brand has always been a legendary staple and fixture in the global automobile industry. Its Renegade, Cherokee and Wrangler variants have been considered the best across the globe.

For any fan of the American brand, the latest assessment on the Patriot is downright frustrating. The car has been launched back in 2007.

What is perhaps discouraging is the fact that the manufacturing company has not instituted any form of adjustment or improvement. 10 years later, the Jeep Patriot still has the coarse and fuzzy atmosphere whenever the vehicle is treading rough roads.

In a capsule, the brand is a letdown for many who wish to have an economical fuel, a comfortable ride, and stylish interior design. Although the satisfaction rating for this vehicle is low, this crossover variant has a couple of notable upsides to offer.

Primarily, the Patriot SUV is a better option when it comes to handling off-road terrains. Its trail-rated Freedom Drive II package is equipped with a low-range variable transaxle, a Brake Traction Control, skid plates and 17-inch tires which are capable of withstanding steep or uneven paths.

Secondly, this sports utility unit is less expensive. Purchasers are able to save a few thousand bucks compared to other small crossover vehicles. Compared to the Honda CRV or the Toyota RAV4, the Jeep Patriot is somewhere in the middle. Still, it has practical elements to unravel.

Its stock outlook provides extra space to accommodate more cargo. The rear seats are flexible enough to be retracted in order to allow enough leeway.

Under the hood of the Patriot is a 2-liter engine that can unload around 158 horsepower. This 5-speed machinery can utilize the manual driving system or tap into a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
