'Supergirl' Season 2 News And Update: Find Out Whether Lena Luthor Is Friend Or Foe

Fans of "Supergirl" season 2 might be worried about the character of Lena Luther being a friend or foe. Katie McGrath is playing the desired recurring role of Lena Luther on the episodes.

She is amongst the new stars who joined this second season of "Supergirl". Playing the role of Lex's sister, her character seems to be different as compared to the past "Supergirl" comics. According to TVLine, within the episodes of "Supergirl" Season 2, Lena is a beautiful, powerful and enigmatic girl. She arrives in National City on the heels of her brother Lex's incarceration hoping for a fresh start.

She has taken over as CEO of the Luther Corp, her family's Billion-dollar Tech Company, which has been tarnished by Lex's evil infamy. Lena's goal is to rebrand the empire of Luther's as a force for good. She wants to be seen as her own person, separate from her brother Lex. The determination is a must if she is friend or foe, for this Kara is drawn into Lena's sphere.

Lena was blamed for the escape of Metallo and her step-mother Lillian from prison and L-corps' CEO was arrested when the National City police department obtained a surveillance video in episode 12 of "Supergirl" Season 2. The video was showing Lena securing synthetic kryptonite, which Metallo used to break out of prison. Towards the end of the episode, Kara, with the help of Winn, discovered that L-corps security camera was hacked, and it is obvious that it was really Cyborg Superman who got hold of the synthetic kryptonite from Luther's Corp.

As per Comics Alliance, Lena was ultimately found not guilty, at the end of an episode of "Supergirl" Season 2. She thanked Kara for standing up for her when the rest of the world thought she is guilty, just because of she is Luther, and she might be wrong just like the other authors. But Lena seemed like she has something up her sleeve.

In her final shot in the episode, she left a question 'Is she hiding something and playing a long game with supergirl?' "That's Lena's journey for the "Supergirl" season 2," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told.

Lena is truly a Luther by blood, she's not adopted. The audience's perception of a character named Luther is bad. The name Luther is synonymous with evil, so the audiences expect that 'if your name is Luther, you must be bad'. But in the case of Lena in "Supergirl" Season 2, she is lending to be good, so the question arise here is it nature vs. nurture?

Lena's ongoing storyline on the "Supergirl" Season 2 is going to highlight one main difference between "Supergirl" and "Superman", as added by Kreisberg. He said "Clark (Superman) didn't trust Lena because of that name Luther but Kara (Supergirl) stands for her.

It's the difference between Kara and Clark, and the interpretation of these characters, is that Clark is little reserved after doing this for a long time, but on the other hand Kara is still wide-eyed and fresh-faced and still believes in the goodness in people. "Supergirl" Season 2 has gained a lot of popularity and fans worldwide, and for the fans, the character of Lena Luther is still a puzzle, whether she is a friend or a foe.
