Forget a Holm, Rousey Rematch: Former Bantamweight Champion Wants a de Randamie Rematch After ‘Intentional’ Punch After Bells

A lot of MMA fans have been looking forward to see a Ronda Rousey-Holly Holm rematch. But the "Rousey" destroyer is resentful with her loss from her latest fight that she wants a rematch against Germaine de Randamie as soon as possible. The former bantamweight champion believes that her opponent intentionally punched her even after the bell rang on the second and third round.

The action of Germaine de Randamie brought controversy over her win via decision against Holly Holm. Holm competed in her natural weight for the first time in UFC, and she was able to gain the upper hand by the start of the match. But after second round concluded, de Randamie landed the "best strike" of the night on Holm, claiming that the punch is just being "caught up in the moment."

But the Rousey destroyer won't believe the claim, because the same thing happened by the end of third round as well. Holms believe that de Randamie's actions were intentional. She said that those two shots are the "hardest" since she was off-guard and that those gravely affected her performance for the following rounds, CBS Sports reported.

De Randamie apologized after the fight, but Holm would only buy it if a rematch will be made. "It wasn't like the last punch of a combination after the bell rang. It was intentional and it was after the bell. What can you do?" Holly Holm said.

Currently, Holm has a three-fight losing streak since she beat Ronda Rousey in 2015. Though given the chance to have a rematch against the former champion, Holm preferred to fight Miesha Tate instead. That time, Ronda Rousey needed time to recover from the physical and mental damage of her first loss ever in UFC. Also, she was busy in her movie and TV appearances that UFC training is affected, as mentioned by Fox Sports.

Rousey recently went back to UFC, but lost again. A rematch between Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey may have been delayed for almost two years now, but the idea of them to have a match inside the cage once more will definitely be a fight UFC fans will look forward to.
