UFC 209: Tyron Woodley vs Stephen Thompson ‘Boring’ Fight Received Jeers From The Crowd

The most amazing fight between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson happened in the the UFC 209 at Las Vegas - but that was just a joke. The rematch battle between the two fighters received too much jeer and boos as the two fought "very cautiously" against each other.

In the end, Tyron Woodley won over Stephen Thompson via controversial decision. However, it may seem that the two fighters lost the respect of the crowd as they failed to make the match worthwhile to be seen. This was a total opposite from their draw match last Nov. 12, 2016 in New York, where back and forth action made the crowd exhilarated with cheers and support.

Sadly, the championship match was unable to show action - not to the extent of making people want more. The only serious action happened on the final 30 seconds of the fight in which Woodley hit a straight right at Thompson - and nothing more. So little happened between the fight of Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson that it is unsure if they will be welcomed back to the cage with the same thrill as before.

For the first rounds, the audience implored the two to give more action by shouting "Fight!" several times. But the two are too cautious of their movements that the fight between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson looked more like an evade-stalk battle, Yahoo Sports reported. The two fighters made too little engagement than expected.

Tyron Woodley is an elite kickboxer, but was unable to perform enough on the fight. Even his anticipated overhand right didn't make a show. Stephen Thompson aka "Golden Boy" on the other hand failed to show off his variety of kicks which was supposed to be among the best in UFC, Fox Sports reported.

The battle between the two is considered to be among the most "boring" fights in UFC. Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson are also aware with their failure to deliver an action-packed fight for the crowd. Too bad, the supposed-to-be "Fight of the Night" ended miserably with a decision winner.
