OnePlus will skip the name OnePlus 4 because number four is an unlucky number in Chinese tradition. The company will call the next flagship phone, OnePlus 5 instead. While OnePlus 3T have some of the best features in the market like 6 GB RAM, OnePlus 5 is also expected to do the same.
OnePlus did not announce OnePlus 5 in last month's MWC 2017. However, some competitor phones were announced like LG G6, Huawei P10, and P10 plus. OnePlus is expected to announce its flagship phone in mid-2017.
According to Phone Arena, OnePlus 4 aka OnePlus 5 would have a massive 4,000 mAh battery and 6 GB/8 GB RAM. OnePlus recently released the first teaser of the upcoming phone, suggesting that more information might be coming very soon. The brand new wallpaper image with the quote 'Never Settle - OnePlus' is very dark and hot.
As written in BGR, OnePlus 4 aka OnePlus 5 would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor (10nm chips) and 128 GB internal memory. According to the current trend, the phone will sport dual lens camera with Augmented Reality and mixed reality features. There will be 5.3" 2K AMOLED display with the glass-made body.
The OnePlus 4 aka OnePlus 5 will be released in summer but after the teaser image, it is expected that OnePlus will announce the phone very soon. Samsung will announce its flagship phones Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus at the end of this month. So, if OnePlus is targeting Samsung then it could announce its flagship before or immediately after that.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and OnePlus 4/ OnePlus 5 would have almost same features but OnePlus offers its smartphone at a lower price than Samsung. Its previous phone OnePlus 3 and 3T had similar features with Samsung's flagship phones. So it will be the correct time for it to launch or at least announce its flagship phone.
