NFL News: Tom Brady Playing For 6-7 More Years Means Jimmy Garoppolo Will Be Traded, Says Colin Cowherd

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft revealed that Tom Brady wants to play for six to seven more years despite being considered by many as the greatest player of all time. According to sports analyst Colin Cowherd, the Patriots are going to trade Jimmy Garoppolo soon if Brady will indeed play into his mid-40s.

In a recent interview with Mike Reiss of ESPN, Kraft revealed that he spoke with Tom Brady several days ago. He noted that the 39-year-old quarterback still wants to play for six to seven more years in the NFL and he has no plans to retire anytime soon.

There were a lot of speculations regarding the future of Tom Brady after winning his fifth Super Bowl title to break the record for most titles for a quarterback. However, the Patriots reloaded this offseason as they try to help Brady win his sixth Super Bowl title and achieve the perfect season.

If Tom Brady achieves that next year, there are no more records for him to break and things to accomplish. It also makes sense for him to retire since he is going to be 40 years old before the start of the 2017 NFL season.

However, the revelation of Robert Kraft means the future of Jimmy Garoppolo, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, is up in the air. According to Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports, Tom Brady could demand the Patriots to trade "Jimmy G" for a draft pick and a pass rusher.

"It should be noted, Tom would like them to trade Garoppolo because Tom would love to get another draft pick and a pass rusher. So Brady is probably thinking trade him," Cowherd said.

The Patriots have made it clear that they want a lot of assets in exchange for Jimmy Garoppolo to ensure that the team will be competitive as long as Tom Brady wants to play. Garoppolo has been linked to teams like the Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears and Houston Texans.
