The Champions League draw kicked off as teams discovered the knockout ladder ahead.

With the Champions League groups' stages on their final touches, Europe's most sought tournament is about to start with the knockout stage.

The final 16 ladder features Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City, the three English teams drawn for the first stage of the knockout to be played in Switzerland.

Among the three UK-based clubs, Chelsea had a historic run in the Championship League. Chelsea won the 2012 Champions League after upsetting Bayern Munich through two penalties at their turf in Allianz Arena.

Chelsea will prepare for the reminiscence of the 2014 semifinals with Atletico Madrid in the knockout stage.

Bayern appeared for the ninth time in the Champions League final with a 4-4 standing in 2012. Their recent defeat was in 2020. On the other hand, Chelsea's first loss in the finals was in 2008 against fellow English team Manchester City who ended the match at 6-5 after converting penalties.

Paris Saint-Germain looks forward to arranging an exciting match against powerhouse team Barcelona after they are drawn against each other in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Barcelona could not forget how the team dug deep to search for the win against Paris Saint-Germain. Lionel Messi and his squad overturned a four-goal deficit to haul the much-needed 6-5 win for a miraculous comeback in the second leg of the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League round of 16 ties.

It was the third meeting of the two European clubs in the knockout stage of the Champions League. Paris Saint-Germain did not win the previous matches in two seasons: during the 2012-2013 and 2014-2015.

Paris Saint-Germain, who now sailed to a 9-1 standing before the draw, succumbed to the Bayern Munich during the Champions League final last year, 1-0, at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal.

After the competition, Bayern came out in pure superiority, securing the continental treble for the second time. The German-based team became the second European club to reach that feat. They were also the first team to emerge with a perfect winning record in the league.

Bayern Munich might be the people's favorite, but getting relaxed should not become their habit. The current season seems to be packed with surprises in the next outings.

The German club will kick for the bout against Lazio, the first-timers in the knockout ladder after 20 years.

Jurgen Klopp-led Liverpool will fly to Germany to meet another German club, RB Leipzig.

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo will set foot in his territory but with a different team, as Juventus gears to brawl with Porto in the knockout phase.

Borussia Monchengladbach is locked against Manchester City while Europa League titlists Sevilla eyes Borussia Dortmund in the final 16.

La Liga third-runner up Real Madrid will face Italian club, Atalanta.

In the Europa League round of 32 draws, Wolfsberger will face Tottenham. Dynamo Kiev will battle Club Brugge, and Real Sociedad will thrive versus Manchester United.

Red Star Belgrade will match with AC Milan. Benfica will be toe-to-toe with Arsenal. Rangers will face Royal Antwerp as Slavia gears for Leicester.

Villareal will fight Salzburg as Braga faces Roma. Dinamo Zagreb will encounter Krasnodar. Young Boys will lock against Leverkusen.

Molder is set against Hoffenheim. Granada will battle Napoli. Shakstar Donetsk will face Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Ajax will square off against Lille, and Olympiakos will duel against PSV.
