On Thursday, the Tennessee-Chattanooga Mocs football team cut ties with assistant coach Chris Malone.
Chattanooga Mocs fired assistant coach Chris Malone after a controversial tweet that sparked hate issues over Georgia politician Stacey Abrams.
Malone's repugnant tweet was deleted immediately on Wednesday. But not fast enough as several screenshots of it already circulated the social media, making it hard for the former assistant coach of Old Dominion football to use denial as an alibi.
The tweet implied how Malone despised the election outcome of the Georgia runoff election. He clearly disagreed with Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock winning over their Republican opponents in the senatorial seats. Abrams was believed to have been a huge part in hauling the votes in favor of the Democrat candidates.

Malone's tweet reads, "Congratulations to the state GA and Fat Albert @staceyabrams because you have truly shown America the true works of cheating in an election, again!!! Enjoy the buffet, Big Girl!! You earned it!!! Hope the money is good, still not governor!"
Chattanooga athletic director Mark Wharton issued a statement to Knoxville News Sentinel that he condemned what Malone has done on behalf of the organization.
"Last night, a totally inappropriate social media post by a member of our football staff was brought to my attention," said Wharton who found Malone's tweet as 'appalling.'

Mocs head coach Rusty Wright released another announcement expressing his dismay over the incident on his social media. Wright stressed that what the Chattanooga offensive line coach did was unacceptable.
"Our football program has a clear set of standards. Those standards include respecting others. It is a message our players hear daily. It is a standard I will not waiver on. What was posted on social media by a member of my staff is unacceptable and not any part of what I stand for or what Chattanooga Football stands for."
Wright added that the most important thing in leading a team is the leadership to be a good example for the young athletes. He continued that the removal of Malone from his coaching team is already in effect upon announcement.
Abrams, who became a minority leader from 2007 to 2017, was the first Black woman to have a shot at the gubernatorial race. However, she was defeated by a Republican candidate, Brian Kemp, in an election that was marred by several reports of voters' purge. Abrams was also an activist for voting rights.
As a Democrat defender, Abrams supported Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock on their senatorial campaign. Ossoff and Warnock won on Tuesday, the day when Chris Malone posted a tweet about them.
Before being fired, Chris Malone had served as an offensive line coach and a game coordinator at Virginia State University in 2013. The said university is known for being a land-grant university made for the Black people when it was founded in 1882.
"The sentiments in that post do not represent the values of our football program, our athletics department, or our university," Wharton ended.
Meanwhile, Tennessee-Chattanooga Chancellor, Steve Angle, said that the Chris Malone tweet was hurtful, hateful, and untrue at the same time, in his posted video.
