Two struggling teams will square off in Week 14 as the Seattle Seahawks take on the reeling Houston Texans at the NRG Stadium. Who will record the much-needed victory in this Seahawks vs Texans clash? Here's a preview of this matchup.

Seattle Seahawks installed as -7.5 favorites

The Seattle Seahawks finally snapped their three-game losing skid on Sunday with a thrilling 30-23 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. It was a big win for the Seahawks, who improved their record to 4-8 and remained in the hunt for the final wild-card spot in the NFC.

Russell Wilson delivered his best game since returning from a finger surgery, completing 30 of 37 passes for 231 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Wilson's solid performance helped Seattle overcome a three-turnover game by Gerald Everett.

However, the victory came at a huge price for the Seahawks, as safety Jamal Adams suffered a season-ending shoulder injury late in the first half. Adams, who just signed a $70 million extension this past offseason, has 87 total tackles for the Seahawks in 2021.

However, Adams has failed to live up to his huge contract, with the former New York Jets not recording a single sack this season. That is disappointing, considering he made 9.5 sacks last season for Seattle, an NFL record for a defensive back.

With Adams sidelined, the Seahawks will turn to Ryan Neal as their starting safety against the Texans. He played in the second half of Seattle's victory over San Francisco. He had two picks while stepping in for Adams previously.

The losses are piling up for the reeling Texans. Houston crashed to its second consecutive defeat on Sunday, absorbing an embarrassing 31-0 loss at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts. It was the second shutout defeat this season for the Texans, who have now lost in 10 of their last 11 games.

They will look to get their season back on track this Sunday when they host the Seattle Seahawks. The Texans have struggled at home this season, losing five of their six games at NRG Stadium. The Seahawks have fared badly on the road this campaign, though, with Seattle winning just two of its six away games.

For the Texans to grab their third win of the season against the Seahawks, they will need to get a much better showing from Tyrod Taylor. He was horrendous in the loss to the Colts, completing just 5 of 13 passes for 45 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. Taylor's poor performance resulted in him being benched in the third quarter.

Taylor injured his wrist, and the Texans trainers were unsure if he could grip the football properly. If Taylor can't play against the Seahawks, Houston will turn to Davis Mills to be its starter in Week 14. He went 6 of 14 for 49 yards in the loss to Seattle.
