A statement given under oath from Davidson County stated that the incident occurred in the parking lot, where Claybrooks is said to have grabbed his ex-girlfriend's cell phone from her hand and thrown it to the ground, causing damage.

The affidavit reportedly noted that the injured person had several bruises and abrasions on her right hand. She claimed to have informed Claybrooks' current girlfriend that she had spent the previous night with him and possessed evidence of this on her phone, which led to the alleged altercation.
