A garage bearing a picture and name of Pitt's character Sonny Hayes has been spotted, as well as co-star Damson Idris, who will play Joshua Pearce.

The film, which tech giant Apple backs after paying around $130-140 million for the movie's rights, has seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton as a producer. Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski will sit in the director's chair.

Hamilton has been heavily involved in making the film to ensure it will be the most accurate racing movie ever.

Apex will follow Pitt's character as a driver who comes out of retirement to mentor an up-and-coming driver. He will then try to take his final stab at glory on the track as the younger driver's teammate.

Brad Pitt trained for 1000 kilometers

The world-renowned actor reportedly trained at the Circuit Paul Riccard, home of the French Grand Prix, using a real F2 car for more than 1000 kilometers.

According to the same report, Pitt's character's team name will be Apex, which is the movie's title.

Pitt will be using an F2 car designed by the Mercedes F1 team during the movie's filming, and it will be edited in post-production to look like an F1 car.

Filmed scenes of Pitt on track will be combined with real footage from the current 2023 Formula 1 season.
