Jordan Goodwin is part of the Phoenix Suns' summer league squad, but it looks like he believes he already has a spot secured.

Goodwin was part of the package that sent him and Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards.

The undrafted point guard believes he has the edge over other summer league aspirants because of his experience, and this is what he hopes to bring to the table of a team he thinks is too stacked.

To him, each player in the squad is great enough to contend for the NBA title.

"We've got our big three and we did a great job of filling in the other positions as well (in free agency)," Goodwin told reporters during the summer league.

"I think we got a great roster one through 15."

The Big Three he is talking about includes three-time All-Star, original Suns Devin Booker, and super scorer Kevin Durant, who joined the team mid-season of 2023.

However, Goodwin explained that team chemistry must be developed first to fulfill the squad's potential.

"I see we have a great chance to win a championship," he said. "We've got a lot of pieces. It's going to be interesting to see how we come together."

Other newcomers with the Suns

Aside from Goodwin, newcomers to the team are Yuta Watanabe, who recorded a 49.1 shooting percentage with the Brooklyn Nets last year.

Veteran shooting guard Eric Gordon also reportedly agreed to $6 million with the team. They also got serviceable big man Drew Eubanks and Keita Bates-Diop.

Mainstays are DeAndre Ayton, Josh Okogie, Cameron Payne, and Damion Lee, all key rotation players for the Suns last year.

Pundits pointed to the Suns' bench as its weakness during the post-season, and it looks like they figured it out with these new additions.
