Right now, the NBA is a big man's league, with the last three MVPs playing under the rim.

A team could use a center, and Dwight Howard believes it could have been him.

Howard has been out of the NBA since 2022 and now strutting his stuff in Taiwan. However, he remained adamant that he was still an NBA-caliber player.

In an interview with Complex Sports, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year claimed he can still crack any 15 to 20 teams in the league.

"I know I can provide a team with 25 minutes of dominant basketball," he said when asked to evaluate how many NBA centers he thinks he is better than.

"And that's not even scoring, that's just playing defense, locking people up, protecting the paint, rebounding, and finishing around the basket. I've had my fun in the game. I just want to go out like a champ like I'm supposed to."

Jokic's Swiss knife or Howard's unstoppable force

Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets is the blueprint for centers now because he can cut teams and let them bleed with his array of skills, from passing to scoring.

However, Howard believes his prime years are better than the reigning NBA Finals MVP because, unlike the Nuggets star, he does not need a three to produce out-of-this-world numbers.

"Obviously, people going to say Jokic can score. He got all those offensive skills," said Howard, who won a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers.

"But at the same time, I was getting 38 and 20, 45-18, 19, 20, and I'm doing all this with twos. No threes, all twos. I'm doing this with lobs. I'm not getting a lot of post-up attempts like Jokic. He's getting way more opportunities."
