Lionel Messi shared a moment with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James ahead of his Inter Miami debut against Mexican side Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.
The NBA's all-time leading scorer approached the recent World Cup winner, giving him a long hug, then saying a few words before hugging him again.
James and Messi are considered by many as the best ever to play their respective sports. The last time that the two publicly met was over a decade ago when James attended a training session of FC Barcelona in 2011.
While the two were already superstars back then, James was still searching for his first NBA championship coming off an upset loss against the Dallas Mavericks in that year's NBA Finals.
Meanwhile, Messi had yet to prove his supernatural abilities outside the Blaugrana striped shirt, failing to bring success to the Argentina national team in the early part of the 2010s decade.

Other superstars present for Messi's debut
Several other notable personalities were in the stadium to witness Messi's first official club game in America.
Tennis great Serena Williams was spotted among the crowd, as well as the Beckham family.
Reality star Kim Kardashian was also in attendance, and she shared in a pregame interview that her son is "obsessed" with the sport.
