The Golden State Warriors acquired NBA veteran Chris Paul in June, a move that didn't make sense initially.

However, it was the same notion that the Phoenix Suns went through when the 12-time All-Star joined them. As most know, CP3 managed to fit in with the Suns perfectly, and among the results was a trip to the 2021 NBA Finals, per ESPN.

This time around, Paul will join a team with a history of winning it all. He will join the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins, all of whom have savored NBA championship gold.

It remains unclear how Warriors coach Steve Kerr will utilize Chris Paul. There are suggestions that the 2006 NBA Rookie of the Year may be a starter, while some believe he will come off the bench.

Kerr was once again quizzed on his plans for Paul and said he remains undecided as the Dubs will try to look at various lineup combinations via Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

"If this is going to work, everyone is going to have to embrace it regardless of who starts."

CP3 role could hint at future moves

The role of Chris Paul once the new NBA season starts will be critical. For one, his amount of exposure may dictate if he will stay or go.

And one player in focus in all of this is Klay Thompson. The 33-year-old guard is in the final year of his deal with the Warriors, NBC Sports reported.

Golden State is trying to avoid penalties if they go over the payroll anew.

A previous story here on Sports World News explained why the Dubs went for Paul and gave up Jordan Poole.

Paul's contract is slightly higher compared to Poole, but the former is on a non-guaranteed.
