Sports journalist and OutKick founder Clay Travis dropped a bold and controversial statement suggesting that a state champion caliber high school basketball team could potentially defeat the reigning WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces.

Three-time WNBA champion and Aces point guard Chelsea Gray did not take this comment lightly, calling the 44-year-old analyst a "dumbass" on Friday, October 27.

Travis quickly responded with a proposal for a high-stakes wager, offering a million dollars for a match between the Aces, and a 2024 high school boys' state champion team of his selection.

The television personality stipulated that if the Aces won, Travis would give them a million dollars, but if his chosen high school team emerges victorious, the Aces would owe him a million dollars, which would be directed to the boys' high school team.

When asked about what would the exact result be, Travis gave a surefire answer on his X account, formerly Twitter.

"I think my team would win by 30+ only because we'd call off the dogs with about ten minutes to play. If they got paid more based on victory margin? 50+," he said.
